2022 New Year Resolution

As promised, in this blog I will talk more about my personal goals outside of writing life.

Normally I have my method of setting personal goals as I've always done as a child. However, I was inspired by this video so I shall prepare something similar.

#1: Financial Goal

Previously, I was in a financial slump because reality and expectations did not meet. Hence, I started working as a freelancer in the covid situation as nobody was employing and I didn't feel like abandoning my writing dream. That effort paid off and now, I wish to build a nest of steady passive funds to pay for my existence.

In other words, I would like to start actively investing in means to grow passive monthly returns from various sources such as stocks, royalties and a business (yes, I'm starting again).

#2: Health Goal

This is my constant struggle. It isn't because I don't exercise or anything but because I only eat instant food. It's taking its toll on my health and honestly, I'm considering a better way to do this. As of now, I think meal preps could be something I should start looking into. At the same time, I could learn to cook even if it might end in failure again.

I'm still positive that there are some things I could cook. I managed to make cabbage soup by myself so that's reassuring that if there's a zombie apocalypse, I might still survive.

#3: Creative Goal

Some of you who followed my Youtube channel (main one) might already know that I've picked up learning the violin. I'm going to follow through with this in 2022 and post the progress videos on my second Youtube channel.

#4: Learning Goal

While I want to group learning the violin and self-learning more piano pieces as my learning goal, I don't think it's fair to count them together. Hence, I decided to do something else for the learning goal. It's something I've wanted to try for the longest time and because it is applicable to my work as a tutor, it makes more sense to begin now.

Yes, I will be picking up my Japanese again. There's this amazing website that I found teaching all the Japanese grammar and vocabulary basics. They broke it down into simple structures that English natives could understand so I would like to do that more. I don't know how I will show this progress but I might do study streams on Twitch or something. There's not really a way to do short videos or blogs about it, right?

#5: Mindset Reframe Goal

As someone who was constantly fighting for survival, I've never been one to express my gratitude properly. I think it's fair that even if people know, I should still express it correctly and give back to them what they've given to me.

Giving and consideration for others is especially difficult for INTJs like myself because we prioritise efficiency over everything else. However, it's something that I need to learn how to do to soften that inflexible rational side of my work ethics now that I'm working with children and more. It's something that I don't know where to start and will fumble on it for a good while but I hope everyone around me can be patient about it.

In conclusion...

2022 might not be an extremely prosperous year with Omicron hovering around everyone. However, like every other year, I will do my best to live meaningfully even if I don't see the end of it.
