How to Create a Best Selling Webnovel Idea: Publishing Stage

Updated: Jan 7

Welcome back to my humble blog!

This time, I published another video on Youtube. It's a continuation of my previous blog and video: "How to Create a Best Selling Webnovel Idea: Creation Stage".

Again, I would like to emphasize that this blog is merely a summary of everything said in the video. If you'd like more details, please watch the full video below and consider subscribing to my Youtube channel!

My goal is to grow my Youtube Channel to 1,000 subscribers by the end of 2021.

Without further ado, let's get started!

#1: Market Demand

The difference between writing for passion and writing for a paycheque is the ability to understand the readers. The former does not prioritise the reader's demands and is solely a work of writer self-satisfaction or inspiration.

However, that is not to say you will never have readers if you only write works of passion. For every work that is created, there will always be a demand.

The reason why understanding market demands and what your paying readers are looking for is important in a best selling novel idea is to maximise the probability of reaching that zone in an existing mainstream market to snatch a portion of readers who are hungry for more similar content. Simply put, you're creating a product for people who have needs but cannot find a suitable solution because it doesn't exist. These people are the ones more than happy to throw money at you when they finally find what they are looking for like parched gold miners.

#2: Business Strategy

A business strategy does not have to be complicated. All you need to know is how you are going to price your product. Different writers have different pricing strategies. For me, I keep it affordable for the main readers and provide them with a sense of 'value' for every dollar they spend.

Privilege tiers are a unique concept to Webnovel. If you are interested in how to price your tiers after you sign a writing contract, you can refer to the link above.

#3: Marketing

Once the product is created, you need to create new customer profiles and grow the number of readers you have. Marketing is a critical requirement for every successful writer to become more successful. Don't just let the initial momentum of success go to waste! You have no time to be resting on your laurels.

If you are an author with an established reader base and wish to continue growing your readers, the above link is a guide to creating more appealing content to reach a wider potential audience.

#4: Time Management

I cannot emphasize how important the ability to schedule and manage your time is. Time is money, even for authors. Sure, many of us will get stuck at some point in our writing. The dreaded writer's block is a common phenomenon. Often, it is caused by stress and lack of self-care. Hence, it is very important to create a writing schedule to avoid mental breakdowns and burnouts. The link below will tell you more about creating an effective writing schedule.

As webnovelists, most of us write more than one series on the go. If you are thinking of writing a new work to enter a writing competition or trying your hand at a new genre after reading this blog and watching my videos, consider reading the blog linked below. Those are some tips written by me to help new writers cope with the full-time writer lifestyle.

#5: Reader Retention

You've written your way into rankings and have a good number of growing supporters. What now?

Congratulations! You're finally at the most difficult stage of an author's career. At this point, what you're looking at is reader retention. The last thing you want now is for your existing readers to be snatched away by another top-selling author with a newer and fresher concept.

This blog post is generously sponsored by the following Patreons: *This could be your name*.

The one thing to note about reader retention is consistency. People often hate change as funny as this sounds. However, they also dislike routine and boring things. Spice your content with unique ideas, you can take a leaf from the upcoming trends to stay ahead of the game. However, always remember your roots. These readers are the ones who have been with you since the beginning and they will continue to follow you till the end of your book's journey only if you treat them right.

That's all from me! I hope this was helpful. Do leave me comments if you have questions and I'll get to them when I see them. Don't forget to subscribe to my Youtube channel for more content and check out my Patreon where I often post bloopers and behind the scene moments <3
