My NaNoWriMo 2020 Challenge
Updated: Nov 17, 2021
November is the month of NaNoWriMo and for many years, I've never successfully participated in this. However, the year 2020 is different.
While not officially, I did set goals for NaNoWriMo 2020 and more ambitiously than any other month because I'm Destiny Aitsuji.

Stalk my NaNoWriMo 2020 progress on Instagram!
While it might be a struggle for many writers to churn out 50,000 words in a month for a novel, I think that for webnovelists, it is something we're used to doing. Hence, I decided to do something a little more different to spice my writing life.
Read my works on Webnovel!
I have a Patreon account that has been slowly growing. However, I realised that there really wasn't any incentives for people to make pledges more than USD1 because I haven't actually started many things for the other tiers. Writing mini-chapters for Time Cross Academy is a challenge in itself because I have to write for several series on to of that. The lack of premium content was killing me and I felt like that had to change. I needed to give my readers and supporters a reason to feel like their money was worth it with me.
As seen from above, that is the first thing most people see when they visit my Patreon page. I write many kinds of works and not all my readers check out all my stuff. Hence, nobody actually bothers going past USD1 because most of them come after reading Time Cross Academy, wanting special chapters for just that series. So I had to edit the tier benefits into what it is now. Previously, there wasn't any premium content in the second tier but that will have to change now.
Introducing 30 special premium content for Tier 2 - the Writing Prompts! This was a plan made for a very long time but I simply haven't gotten around to doing them mainly because I was fighting fire for contracted work deadlines. The 50 + 50 event was insane as it was and I am glad it's finally over.
With more time to go onto Reddit and chat with my fans for inspiration, I hope to breeze through the second part of my NaNoWriMo 20202 challenge. 30 writing prompts isn't an issue but more importantly, I need to create an interactive and interesting social media profile so that I can strengthen my personal branding. Some of you might notice the difference from my earlier days on Instagram and now. I've finally understood how the app worked and with the help of Canva to create visually appealing and click-baity posts, I hope to increase the follower count dramatically and become an influencer of sorts.
At the same time, I will be updating my blog here on the official website weekly while continuing to improve on the user interface. I have not found out how to do mail subscriptions using wix but that's a problem for me and my PA to figure out. Yes, I engaged the help of my BFF as my personal assistant simply because my life was falling apart with so many things that needed my attention.

With that said, the most important thing is to let the fans of E-Ghost know what I plan to do after NaNoWriMo. Some of you know that it was a work-in-progress after I won the WPC competition and almost immediately dropped it. Don't worry, I will still complete writing it this month and update it fully for all you loyal readers. However! I will be removing the updated chapters on Webnovel after 31 December 2020 and leave only about 20% there for new readers. Why? That's because I will be transferring that book to Google Books and Amazon and also making it available on Patreon for the Des-perate Reader Tier and up. I'm no longer going to sign exclusive contracts because signing them had always made me disappointed. Now, I seek to bring works that people like at affordable prices.
People may complain and whine but I think this is only fair. I'm a creator and I have to do something for a living. Nobody is going to help me if I keep giving when I don't receive anything. I'm going to starve. It's sad but this is how reality works now.
So while my NaNoWriMo 2020 Challenge sounds like just a random list of fun stuff that I want to do, I'm going to use this blog as an excuse to justify my actions as a business strategy. I'm currently waiting for EGlobal Creative to reply to me and give me the non-exclusive contract that I've been waiting for 2 months now but while I wait, I'm going to continue doing what I think is necessary to succeed.
That's all from me. Let me know if you're participating in NaNoWriMo and what your goals are!
This is Destiny Aitsuji, signing off.
